Elephant & Rhino Slaughter

I received this email from a friend earlier this week. I have signed the petition; please help by doing the same. The images and info are horrible, but it is only by enough people expressing outrage that we can even hope of putting an end to this evil.

[On average 10 rhino/elephants being poached per day – reaching an all together crisis situation.

Please please send out Richard Vigne’s link to try and get 1,000,000 names signed on his petition so that he may then present it to the Chinese ambassador in Nairobi and take the campaign to stop poaching across Africa to another level

New Avatar Challenge for the Indigenous to East & Southern Africa Group

The Indigenous to East & Southern Africa group has, at present, just two challenges a year, both of them to decide on an image to be the group’s avatar for the six months following the challenge.
The latest Avatar Challenge for the group has just been set up and will be accepting entries from 20 January, 2011, for five days, after which there will be five days for voting.
The theme is ‘Open House’ i.e. you can submit whatever image you wish from your portfolio, so long as it’s already accepted into the group.
If you are making an entry, please note the instruction regarding the centring of the subject as described on the Challenge page.
