This landscape painting was done from a photograph taken by my son Tim Fishback on a mountain bike trail. This was the most recent of my aspen series and the first to sell.

My paintings reflect my love of the outdoors, especially those places near a stream, a river, a lake, or the sea. This fascination with the outdoors began when I was a young boy exploring McKenzie Creek, which ran about 50 yards from my Grandmother’s home, in Piedmont Missouri. Many of my paintings are devoted to scenes that have in them a body of water of some type or other. Other features of the outdoors that I am drawn to are mountains, skies, trees, old barns, hay bails, and animals.

This….is what first attracted me to browsed some of your other work, Daniel; I liked the effect of the entire piece, which ‘sucked me right in’! I Like the repetition and harmony in it, as well as your limited palette-it appears!
Thank you very much JackqueLynn. I like this piece myself a lot but haven’t been getting many comments so it’s good to get another one. I do use a limited palette consisting of the primaries plus sometimes Viridian. I find it easier to maintain color harmony that way.
