Cardinal in Spring at Wilson Grove by

In April, just as the trees were beginning to show a hint of green leaf, a cardinal was daring enough to sit on a branch in the brush long enough for me to get a photograph of it. The image was taken at Wilson Grove Wildlife Area north of Sumner, Iowa.

I live in northeast Iowa on an acreage. I grew up on a farm, and learned to love nature a great deal. I have worked as a veterinarian and currently work for a landscaper. The many experiences I have had in life have given me a “wide eye” when I look at the world around me.
