This is a shot from our national park trek in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, India. Most of the park was green (surprising, I know!) and there weren’t many flowers but every now and again I’d spot a small plant with a few brightly coloured tiny flowers. Our guide said it was the food source of a particular butterfly we’d seen around the place, well, more the food source for the caterpillar.

You can see why, in an endless green forest, this little flash of colour constantly caught my eye.
