Mommy Ramblings by Desiree  Andrejcik Photography

Well ever since I have become a stay at home mommy I am a bit of a rambler and even if there is no one there to listen…that’s ok lol! I like to write or should I say type? Life is pretty good. I think I’m doing ok as a first time mommy :) He’s clean, got a full tummy, and clothed…what more could a kid want lol!

I think the most difficult thing about being a stay at home mom is making time for you…aka the mommy!! And finding yourself again. Well at least for me. You clean, and change diapers, clean some more, and etc. And for someone who was always working, going to school, and following a dream of being a photographer it’s a very different lifestyle. Different not worse :)

I’ve learned in many different situations that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Sometimes it’s just full of dog poo :) So this is my typed up confession and attempt to find me again and maybe even meet a few other mom’s out there who are looking for…more!

I hear you! Let no-one tell you that the life of a stay at home mum is one of coffe & cake with the girls, watching soap operas all day & shopping. (OK, there’s always shopping, but it’s groceries, not shoes & handbags!)

You’ve got one of the hardest jobs there is. Raising another human being & doing it well is damn hard work!

My eldest is 6 now & I still find it hard to make time for myself. I know I should, but with parenting, working, school, housework, groceries, remembering that I have a Husband that needs attention, an onslaught of weeds in my garden (the list goes on & on so I’ll stop here) I rarely find the time to fit “me” in.

I had to force the issue when I began to feel a little ‘crazy’ a couple of years ago. Now, my “me time” is piling the kids in the car once a month for a drive to find something inspiring to point my camera at. Then home to sit in front of photoshop for a couple of hrs.
Ahhh…… Thankyou to the Adobe gods for bringing me some sanity :D

Enjoy your new role, it’s wonderous & exciting & overwhelming sometimes, but Oh so worth it :D

    Desiree Andre...

Oh thank God…there are other mommies out there like me lol! For a minute I thought I was the only one :) Well I think sadly this just made my week…it’s so nice to talk with someone who has been in my shoes…and back. Thank you and hope to stay in touch :)

And I think I might steal your “Me time” idea! I’d love to get out and shoot some stuff regularly. And I too thank the Adobe gods often!!
