Beautiful technique, I use to do something similar with masking and poured airbrush acrylics and inks. I was a commercial artist with dead lines, so my wife and I were always fighting over the kitchen oven. :-) Norval

I like this technique, plus I love printmaking. Together it looks really beautiful. I saw DAvid Lewills work today and met him, he also paints white over his work. I love the feel of it, plus I adore the bird. Looks so much like a print. One of my favs this week. BillyLee

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL… I love everything about this wonderful image. The branches overlapping, the berries, the lovely stance on the bird and I particulary love the red. The little peaks of colour within the red adds such a richness to the layers, the white is such a powerful background against the red. It works perfectly all together. Love it.

Thanks Jason. Where I live (in the rainforest of northern NSW) there are so many amazing birds right outside my window. I usually paint landscapes, but since living here I’ve painted a whole series of bird paintings too.
