Tour of Britain cycling race 2010 by desertman

Posted on September 13, 2010

Stage 3 of the Tour of Britain cycling race, sponsored by Honda, was at my home town of Swansea Wales, today where they climbed that legendary ‘Constitution hill’ a 300 metre steep cobbled surface hill of 1 in 4 or 20-28% some climb!
I took the opportunity to take some great pics to show the stress and agonies as they climbed the hill – will put them up on my desertman section
After all that hard rinding, and in the pouring rain, I suppose they did have some ‘rewards’ at the finish. i.e a few kisses by a pair of ‘bucksome wenches’ a bunch of flowers, some champers and no doubt a few bucks and may be a Honda car thrown in…!!

    Glad you reminded me.
They are coming through my town tomorrow afternoon.
Must get down and watch them.

Hi – yes it was a great day and despite the damn rain thousands turned up to watch it – especially that steep climb on constitutional hill, packed either side encouraging the cyclists – excellent turn out~! hope you have better weather!
I am in the process of uploading a series of pics as we speak..
