Every “flag” holiday, volunteers put up American flags along both sides of about a four-mile stretch of what would be Main Street here in Green Valley, Arizona, USA. Many of the residents are retired service people, so there are a lot of people who are willing to perform this flag ceremony. I got there as some of them were going up. One of the volunteers had his granddaughter helping. A great lesson for her, I thought.
Photographed with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28.

Thank you so much, Dot. The row of flags without any cars, golf carts (the second most popular mode of transportation in GV), or bikes was quite dull, so I was happy when this cyclist rode through my viewfinder.

Thank you so much, Richard. I have other photos of just the flags, but the cyclist really added something to this photo.
