A friend and I were wandering Fourth Avenue in Tucson, Arizona, USA when I noticed some wonderful murals with pictures of rock stars. A man approached me and said that if I liked what I was photographing, I should go around the corner to see the wonderful full-wall portrait of a woman that was painted by a man using only spray cans. I jumped at the chance. As I photographed, I could imagine the portraits in grunge. This one is created by combining a free texture layer from stock.xchng.com with a high contrast black and white version of my color photograph.
Photographed with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50.

Linda, Wonderful work. Bet you have trouble sleeping at night thinking up these creative things to do.
Thanks, John. I had a pretty good idea of what to do with this photo when I saw the shot. It shouted “grunge” at me right away. What came later was turning the photograph into a high contrast black and white. Worked great.
