San Xavier Mission Reno Detail by

After several years, the west tower renovation was complete and the scaffolding had been removed for photographers to shoot this beautiful mission under floods. This mission was founded by Father Kino and is located on the Tohono O’Odam reservation southwest of Tucson, Arizona, USA. Designated a National Historic Landmark, It has been in existence since the late 1700’s and is still an active church. It has been restored several time. The east tower has yet to be restored, but the economic situation has delayed the start of the project. Photographed with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ 50.

  • Thank you very much, Karen. This tower is pristine after the long renovation. The renovation of the east tower has been delayed due to lack of funding.

You have a good eye for architectural detail such as this. Nice combination of curves, swirls, and straight lines. Very clean looking and the angle of the shot is very interesting.

  • Thank you very much, Dot.
