The last of the three photographs I took of this beautiful car when it was displayed at the Claremont car show on the 20th of November 2011. Once again I took this with my beloved Rolleicord V using Fuji Reala 100 ASA film. Processed by Perfect Prints in Hobart who have done all of my C-41 medium format processing for a while now. Scanned on my Kodak Professional PCD 4050 photo scanner and the levels adjusted in Photoshop 7.0 as well as the usual minor dust spotting. Otherwise untouched. The shutter settings I cannot recall at this time. I love the design of the famous Bathurst Globe wheels which were a rare option on this car and I think with the glorious red paintwork they look a treat here…
Hey mate, this is the best of the series I think. Great composition. Looks a million dollars, too, have to check out the scan file first hand. Regards, Brett
Yeah….I think this is my fave too! This is a medium res scan, it’ll go higher… Such an easy scanner to use too… Thanks for the comments! I do think I like Reala quite a bit….first time I’ve ever used it!
Congratulations, this excellent image has been featured in the FILM PHOTOGRAPHY group. Regards, Brett Group Host
Cheers mate! This shot turned out so much better than I could have hoped for at the time…but the gorgeous subject matter and wonderful lighting on the day played a huge part! As well as the wonderful Reala…a film I was using for the first time but will use again…and again! Biggest credit has to go to the Rollei though….there’s a damn good reason why it’s my favourite camera I own!!!
Thankyou! I just love this film….and I’ve got to say the scanner is very easy to get along with too! This was the first roll of film I scanned on it, but it just worked so well… Gotta hand it to Kodak, their pro grade scanners were built well! This image has only ever passed through Schneider lenses….the Xenar on the Rollei, and the Makro-Symmar in my scanner! I can’t wait to run it through a Rodagon though on my enlarger… Medium format is just so wonderful…I would never have gotten this as nice out of 35mm….
