This image shows part of the “face” of the Matterhorn, right below the top. If you zoom in you can make out 3 climbers on the shoulder (where the snow is) one close to the top, one about in the middle and one shortly below that one (diagonally). Can you see them? =)

I took that out of an “Air Zermatt”-helicopter, flown by one of those fearless pilots rescuing people out of the mountains. All too often they can only retrieve corpses.

I uploaded it for the calendar, but I hope you like it, too. I love the texture of that rock, the brown part is a vertical drop a few hundred meters deep.

thank you Karen! Anybody saw the climbers? One has a red jacket on, that one is rather easy to spot.

Great capture De. Looks like a paradise for mountaineers. If I’m right the first is in the red jacket. The second in Black at the top of that crevice and the third is in black with white socks Right?

Excellent capture. I would love to climb this someday; my dad climbed it in the 1950’s. Maybe one day.

  • thanks for your nice comment. Your dad is a very lucky man, I’d love to climb it myself but it is very hard and I’m a bit afraid of hights. :-)
