Supernumerary rainbow
Note the extra bands beneath the rainbow. This is a less common occurrence in Rainbows with a long drawn out scientific explanation. This is the only rainbow I have captured with this phenomena.

Thanks so much for the comments everyone. Now all I have to do is figure out how to take great shots in the rain. It seems that we have a never ending stream of rain and wind storms heading our way. I am going to have to put on my thinking cap.

I have a ‘double’ rainbow shot taken on the 1st April 2006 after a short shower and back from a shopping trip. Luckily, I had my little point and shoot pocket camera, and shot it against a dark sky, so it stands out quite well. The surrounding scenery is better in your shot than in mine, but my rainbows are more pronounced. Watch my space!!!
