    Thanks so much for the comments. These trees are similar to Bonsai trees in that they are sculpted and trained in a similar manner. They take a great deal of care to keep them this way. However, height wise, these trees are well over my head. I think that the techniques are the same, just the size is different. They have sculpted much of the garden in a similar manner. The lower lying bushes get shaped as mounds. (see the photo “In a dream”)

    Since giving up bonsai I’ve repotted my trees in bigger pots and called them patio plants.
    All my cotoneasters in the garden are shaped in some way whether cloud or square.
    Anyhow good photo of “bonsaied” trees.
