Some of my favorite tutorials come out of this magazine (along with Photoshop Creative and Advanced Photoshop). If you don’t have access to the magazine, the NAPP site might have the tutorial. It was a multistep process, using layers, channels and multiple filters.

You have made good use of the tutorial. This really is a beautiful effect – the flower used as a base is very different to anything Ive seen elsewhere. For further effect, though this is wonderful, I would have moved it a little further left rather than had it placed central, and perhaps then put something small in the right space left to lead the eye – perhaps a small crab, or fish…...

This is a stunning image, I agree with all that has been written above – except the inclusion of a crab or other life form in the shot…...please don’t do it, it will take away from the beauty of a single flower!..... but for me it is the light you have used/made in this image that pulls it all together
