What is within a heart that knows not love,
That exists without; that then slumbers deep
Within the breast? Cans’t man be, can he move,
Without it, through, the prison of life’s keep?
Unbidden it arrives and strikes the chord.
This heart it hears the call and does respond,
Enjoining the Siren with joyous word
The mind saying no, the heart-breaking bond.
This Wondrous song now risen, who will hear?
Who will listen to this melody? Will
We then join in harmony? Will we bear
The pain of love, the passions unfulfil?
The essence ever in the heart does’t keep,
And will remember all ere one does’t sleep.
