My possum empire is somewhat diminished unfortunately. From the glory days when 7 or 8 identified possums used to visit me for food, now I see only Mrs Murgatroyd (one of the originals) and Mr Smooshy (the father of almost all of the others, and possibly Mrs M’s son). She has produced a baby again this season, and again it is identical to all the other babies I’ve ever captured with the camera. On its first night out of the pouch, it easily let me hold its tail; the other night (September 17) it took a small piece of apple from me.
