This mother galah (well, I think this is the female) was grooming her baby in the oak tree, in the late afternoon sun. She had been doing the same for her mate just before, when her baby starting making ‘pay attention to me’ noises, and she abandoned her mate and began cleaning her baby’s feathers, all around the beak and the eyes.
Canon EOS 400D, Canon L lens 400mm (fixed), 1/100th, f/5.6, ISO 400, aperture priority.
