Two juvenile grey fantails (Rhipidura fuliginosa) resting in the camellia tree. Mum kept swooping in and out, feeding one at a time. No sign of dad – typical!!!
Canon EOS 400D, Canon EF L lens 400mm fixed, 1/250, f/5.6, ISO 800
The grey fantail is common throughout Australia and there have been breeding pairs in my garden ever since I’ve lived here. They are quite used to me and will even flutter and swoop directly over my head. Once, one landed on my outstretched arm … wonderful!
