This is a photo of my mother and me, taken in about 1960, presumably by my stepfather, in Cornwall on our summer holidays. I was 10 or so when this was taken, my mother about 35. We were on a ferry across (I think) the Helford River.
My mother died 3 years ago and I’m still going through her things … she was the world’s most enthusiastic, and possibly worst, photographer, so it is good to find one of us together, instead of one of me taken by her, with my head chopped off, or completely out of focus …
Your Mum looks like a Goddess of the Screen. She could have been a Movie Star. Oh do tell some stories.
Goodness! I knew she was good looking, but that’s an amazing comment! The stories … ah, perhaps not for a public forum … but when we have our Ferret Meeting, who knows! Thanks for this lovely comment, I really appreciate it :)

Is it Katherine Hepburn she reminds me of?
Maybe … she reminded me of someone else whose name I now can’t remember …I ’ll follow it up!

I got it! It’s Lauren Bacall.
Wow! She’d be very happy!!!

Yes… a cross between Katherine and Lauren for sure!
Thank you so much – a Mother’s Day special (well, almost… I’m sure it was still Mother’s Day somewhere!!)
