Finland!!
Having just re-established my links with RB, I’m signing off for a while … I’m going to Finland for about 12 days!
I’m giving a paper at a conference (doesn’t that just sound too toffy for words!). The conference is on rural sociology, and my paper is about the future of a particular horse sport, eventing, which don’t seem at all related … but they accepted my abstract, and my ego and my commonsense had a battle, and ego won, so I’m going for my brief moment of fame!!
It’s all very strange, and scary, and challenging, and I should be in bed RIGHT NOW …
Spent the worst 24 hours of my life last night when I couldn’t find my passport. It was at work, but until I found it I truly thought my brains would burst out my ears (I hate to think what my blood presure must have been last night, as I turned the house upside down for the 18th time).
Anyway, I’ve got it now, I’m signing off for a while, and I hope all is well with all my RB friends. Look forward to the pics! 16 hours of daylight, late summer, reindeer, omigod it’s all toogood!
