i openned an image

select the levels tool.


this is the levels tool.
there are three little triangles under the big window. by sliding these left and right you can adjust the levels within the image.


here are the figures I came up with

next convert to grey scale

here are two images, one on left without any adjustments to levels,
one on right has been adjusted
