How much did you pay for your macro tubes? I found some for 17 dollars on ebay. There is so much stuff to photograph here and it is all so close. Leesa and I try to head out most weekends. I should be steadily adding photographs as I go. Anyways, I will be seeing you soon.

I saw lots and lots of frogs today and I took lots of pictures of them, none of them are good enough to see this website though, maybe when my film gets back eh? Keep in touch!
Hi Dennis, I use a Canon 350D with a 60mm 2.8 macro lense and a Speedlite 430EX to shoot these shots. You need the flash because at maximum magnification the amount of light ireaching the sensor is reduced. The magnification is 1:1 which means it appears life size on the sensor which is only 2.2×1.5cm so when you blow the image up to a 6×4 print it’s magnifies 3 times. Given the Canon is 8MP I guess you could get a 30cm by 20cm print without loosing quality so the magnification would be 13 times!

Hello, Dennis as you are the king of these challenges I thought I would suggest this here directly… these challenges are largely collaborative and it’s so impressive the way people jump onto them and then go and create and come back and share… Next time you get the urge and inspiration to begin another… would you consider putting it as a forum in the collaborations hub.?.. some of those pictures don’t make it to the gallery I’m sure, so it would be great to have them all in the bubhub… just an idea…

Hi Dennis, I use Apophysis www.apophysis.org to generate those fractal images. It’s a matter of patience and lots of tweaking sometimes to find something nice, but it’s very easy :-) Love your gallery, I wish I had the bandwidth to look at everything properly!
