The new scanner arrived this week and I’ve got it all plugged in and working. Unfortunately, the learning curve is a bit steep and I’m struggling with the optimal settings. I can’t decide if my use of the film camera is at fault or if the scan settings are out of my understanding. Out of the three scans only one is acceptably sharp, the others are not quite up to my standards. I’m leaning more towards the operation of the camera for the “lack luster” sharpness. All of the slides where scanned with the same height settings for the film tray, which is why I’m leaning more to the “camera operator” conclusion.

Please feel free to comment on what I might be doing wrong or suggestions you might have on the scanning process.

they look great, especially the Smoky mntns shots, but on that rivers edge, for me it’s too saturated, the sawgrass looks just right.
off to a good start with experimenting denis
