Demin Xu

Xu Demin is one of the famous artists and poets in china. He was born in Dec. 1953. Upon graduation in 1983 from Fudan University, where he started to work as a lecturer. From 1987, he began to work for Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee. Now he is the chief editor of ‘China Abstract Art’, the art director of China Abstract Academy and China Abstract Art (http://www.chinaabstractart.com), a member of Chinese Novelists Association, and an administrator of board of directors in Shanghai Art Photographers Association.

In the middle of 1980s, Xu Demin began to draw. He tried different genres of art using different kinds of materials, from Realism, Impressionism and to Surrealist. Finally he focused on abstract painting at the beginning of 1990s. Not only focus on painting, he also works as an abstract art critics and theorist who owns a special position in Shanghai abstract artists.

For the last 20 years, he has continued participating the Shanghai International Art Exhibition. His works have been collected by art collectors from China, England, America, France, Germany, Belgium, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
