White Ibis (Eudociumus Albus)
One of the most numerous wading birds here in Florida, the White Ibis is also found in great numbers throughout the southeast United States. Although the adult appears to be white all over, the tips of their wings are black and usually only visible in flight. Yes, this photo is a White Ibis — one that has not reached adulthood. Although their white plumage is spectacular, I really think they are very pretty in their youth, too. This youngester was photographed in Lake County, Florida.
