Great Horned Owl
The most powerful and the most common of the North American Owls, the Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) is easily identified by its large ear tufts that resemble horns. This bird was not in the wild, but I photographed him at the Homosassa State Wildlife Park in Homosassa, Florida.
