'Tis the season to jolly chins up..

The festive season – sociable climate with sprinkling of
in-season tears; those rainy day moments,
they splash against good tidings

Heavy gloomfall
tips the balance of sadness/joy
Such inclement weather! Puddles. Smiles,
are light-shine giving cheer;
bring it on, a gift
for others, and to water the clumps of indifference to
one’s own well being

Sun’s up, new day in the making
the most of it..

    Hi Del…you write of the attitude towards the season that can make the difference..
    Considering this time of the year statistically is a mine/mind field for many.
    There are still many people who don’t have a lovely day let alone a lovely Christmas and today being inspired by your words above I am going to take my son to the local organization needing donations of food etc and give what we can there…
    I have been more frugal with the Xmas spirit being so extremely tired and your words do indeed charge the batteries … thank you xxxx

  • Thank you Karen Sue – I’m feeling very
    grateful, very moved, by comments on this piece;
    your response is awesome, to say the least.
    The thought of you and your son giving
    is a piece of life-beautiful, your specialness
    I’ve not failed to notice, and this is yet
    another time when I think ‘wow Karen Sue’

    Tiredness, yes enough to cause the heart feel heavy at the sight of tinsel and cheer..
    and instead of dizzy with excitement, swaying with vertigo.. the kind to self is a remedy :)
    and the extra love spread makes a difference all round.
    Special Mum, special son, may you have a very happy time over Christmas.
    Thank you KS oxo

    at this time of year,

  • at the bottom of my reply is a few words out of context the ’ at this time of year ’ words

    Wonderfully put Del, big holidays do seem to bring both sadness and happiness for many reasons. I think it is an opportunity in so many ways, loving and giving being just a few. Wonderful message Del, wonderful write.

  • Thank you Tony, yes all that is felt is felt more acutely at this time of year;
    loving and giving does make a huge difference,
    small things, thoughtfulness, lights up a life/lives. oxo
