I have always been told that I see the world differently, for years I considered this to be an insult, it wasn’t until I picked up a camera and started sharing what I saw that it became a positive part of my life.
My memories of growing up in Lancashire are filled with trips into the Pennines and Lake District, pretty green places, I’m sure the rose tinted glasses have removed the driving rain and thick mud. Then for some obscure reason I ran away from home fully intending to join the circus, however, I ended up a member of the Royal Navy instead (which is surprisingly similar to the circus) and it was in the Navy that I started my love hate relationship with the sea.
My time with the Royal Navy provided me the opportunity to travel and explore some beautiful and wild places around the world. Making art and being in the Royal Navy means that I don’t get to see much of the places I have been, usually just around the port of entry. I like to think that the pictures I take are of the forgotten parts of our world, the places that have been overlooked as we carry on our busy lives.
Leaving the Royal Navy in 2012, I took the leap and moved halfway across the world! Travel, it’s good for you! I now call Sydney NSW my home.
My photography makes me pause and consider the beauty that is all around, often making me smile and dream of far away places. I hope that it does the same for you.
Well I have been doing some ninja hard photography recently, taking band pictures in the low light of nightclubs. But good news as one has been selected for the front cover of a music magazine published in Sheffield England! Baby steps / Linky Linky / Thank you all here at red bubble for the inspiration and urge to improve my photography
Ok first of all sorry for the random title, but if you know me by now your getting used to me being off on a tangent. / Just got back from Venice, what a fantastic place, words simply do not do it justice, and as i found out quickly can you do it justice in pictures? No really could you, I’m pretty certain that thousands, no make that millions, even better billions of people have tramped up…
Those of you who are friends of mine on Facebook will have already heard me rave over this blog. For those of you that aren’t (shame on you!) here is a copy of the link. Be warned though it contains some harrowing images! Linky Linky there is hope for us all
woke up this morning and toddled over to the computer to have a quick look to see if anyone had looked at the picture I uploaded yesterday. As a rule I expect maybe 20 views within the first day or so and a word or two of encouragement from my Internet friend Paul Vanzella. / Switch on, put glasses on and let jaw drop!!! okay something screwy going on here where did all these comments come from?…
