Alliance
In a quiet corner of Portsmouth sits a small museum to the men and machines of the Royal Navy Submarine Service. Part of the Museum is an A-class Diesel electric submarine. It missed active service in WW2 but got to star in a James Bond movie!
I worked on submarines, words cannot describe the smell and taste, a mix of diesel oil, salt water and 100 men living without enough water to wash properly. Let alone the cramped living conditions. I was once told (so it must be true) that there are only two ‘jobs’ worse than being a submariner, they were, tramp and prostitute.
it’s not a ship, its a boat.

Now we’re talking. Andrew, I just opened this image up and Wow! A big massive serious Wow!
By god have you smacked the nail firmly and squarely on the head here. This is freaking amazing. The tones on it are just incredible, the light reflects and bounces superbly and gleams in the photo in 3D almost!
The background of boats just adds to the environment perfectly and those clouds just really really make it.
No competition – Seriously the finest work of yours yet! Absolutely incredible
(And It’s got to be The Spy Who Loved Me?)

Ditto Stuart. Love the black and white and the drama of the composition. Another one for Hiscocks I think.
