In short:

Hobby photographer. Beach lover. Traveller. Buyer of scarves I never end up wearing.

In long:

I never really delved all that much into photography until about five-and-a-half years ago. And that was all thanks to getting hold of a digital camera and thinking, “Hey, this is kind of fun… And not just because I can take 100 shots of something, see them instantly and assess whether to delete them or not immediately!”

Prior to that, I’d had a basic point-and-shoot camera that took film and begrudgingly took photos. It had a macro setting that resolutely refused to take anything macro. Developing the film was a pricey sort of risk as a high school student, so I mostly never used the camera.

Then in 2005, I bought my first digital camera – a Canon IXUS 60 that still works (more or less – more in black and white, less in colour) now days, in spite of having taken more than 85,000 photos.

The obsession with photography grew from exploring everything through the lens of the camera. There are so many fascinating new ways you can see the world around you when you look at it through a camera’s viewfinder. And have a point-and-shoot macro function that works.

While I love my Canon DSLR, I generally find myself using my Canon IXUS 130 the most. For hobby photography, it’s not been bad so far.

I tend not to edit my photos. There are the occasional ones I’ll boost the colour of to a degree, but I will let you know in the photo info which ones they are. I figure if I can’t take a photo that looks half-way decent without needing to drag Photoshop into the matter, then I’m not putting in enough effort.

Hope you enjoy the photos! And possibly even buy some in some form or another.
