This is the fountain in the old rose garden in Loose Park, Kansas City, MO. This garden was established in 1931; the park itself sits on land on which the Battle of Westport was fought, in the Civil War.
Soldiers wounded in the battle were treated in a nearby house, the Wornall House, which is only a couple of blocks from my home.
3 exposures, tone-mapped in Photomatix, with additional processing similar to the Orton process.
Camera: Canon EOS 50D (24-105mm lens) Aperture: f/8.0 Focal Length: 28 mm ISO Speed: 100
I thought this had a bit of Orton in it Delany, great composition here – the fountain is just right.
Thank you, Jason. It was a very nice HDR result on its own, but it seemed like the kind of scene that would look good with a bit more softness. I converted a duplicate layer of the image to B&W and blended it as Overlay, at middle-range opacity.

Love the shutterspeed, the rays of water look wonderful, great HDR processing too
Thanks very much, Henk. I was happy with the 3-exposure results on the water. The motor on the 50D is wonderfully quick!
