I’m a photographer based in Glasgow, I’ve always loved taking images since getting my first Canon compact camera in the early 90’s. I started taking photography seriously in 2007 after purchasing my second DSLR and a few Canon lenses. My main subjects i’m passionate about photographing are: Landscape, Wildlife & Nature, Birds, Cityscape night and Architecture.
I like my photographs to look as natural as possible and only do basic post-processing in Canon’s RAW conversion software.

Excellent shot, I’d be interested to know what lens you used as it’s usually very difficult to get anywhere near the deer?

    Thanks again.

Hi David. I got very close to this Deer and only had to use my wideangle Canon 17-40mm F4.0 L lens @ 29mm and paired with my Canon 50d. I have other shots of Deer around the same area (not sure if the same one) and also images of Deer taken at the Kings house hotel, which I got very close to and was even able to hand feed some of them.

    Thanks Grant,
    That’s interesting!
Only once did I get that close to some deer in Glen Etive, I’ll need to get to the Kings House Hotel and see if my luck’s in :)

I’m coming back to fave this! My Dad would love it, (well, love to shoot it with a bow)…..myself, I prefer to shoot with the camera as you. Just a tip; if you hit reply on the senders comment, they will get the reply from you on their feeder page. The highlands look so pretty, my Grandfather’s descendants are from Scotland…but I’ve never been…..yet! =)
