Please help

My brother currently lives in Hong Kong and wants to send me Photoshop for my birthday. Can anyone please give me advise on which package is the best and has the most features. My husband has brought me Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 so any advise on how to get the best out of that and the best other packages will be much appreciated

Regards
Deidre

I dont know much about Photoshop either but I went onto their site & read about the different packages & add-ons you can get. They have one called “lightroom” & a bunch of others that looked interesting.
www.photoshop.com I think not sure you can always “google” too

  • Thank you so much. I am a novice at this so any advise is greatly apprecaited

My husband a seasoned graphic designer says Adobe Photo Shop Pro is the best (CS3). Hope this helps some.

Hi.. I am looking into the same exact things right now.. I have used Adobe Elements which appears to ba a mini version of the CS3 program.. However,. I have been advised that Lightroom is a sweet addition to the workflow of any system chosen. I am also told that it is not as much/hard/complex (whatever the right word would be ) to work with on your digital images. I have also been scouring the internet for info to help me choose & spend my $ more wisely.. I found excellent helpful info on on few sites in particular.. I will b-m them to you tonight.. I have the feeling that there will be many many opinions.. all quite different so i thouth I would read up insted to ck them all out.. Hope it helps. Lj Maxx

Adobe CS3 is the one I use and it is excellent.

I too use CS3. Sometimes just the basic lingo is daunting to learn. For example when you cut and paste something from one photo to another and then you want to combine them permanently, you have to press a “flattening” tab. The word flatten is used to mean this, but if I did not know the word it would be hard to know that was the word for it. Just ask.

I use photoshop elements 5 and photoshop c23.I find that when you are using the magic wand (for an example) it is alot easier to use then photoshopc23. You can put plugins into both of the programs. Myself I love both programs. You can do alot more in c23 then photoshop elements5. I guess it all depends on what you are using it for. Let us know what you decide. :o) Good luck
