Meet Margaret Schofield, who dances in Flinders Mall, Townsville, any time there is live music. I am fascinated by the fact that Margaret clearly feels so young and beautiful when she dances, (dancing is her lifes work, she tells me!) and really feels that those who snigger at her are merely jealous. She is pictured outside Perc Tucker Gallery, where this painting hung as part of their recent Portrait Competition. Margaret made sure Perc Tucker Gallery was truly egalitarian for the duration, dragging in every friend, relly and hobo she could find to see it. I included the gallery and the pigeons with Margaret to ask a question about defining which if any of those 3 things are public pest or public icon.
