How to mix flesh tones- Palette for Flesh Tones and Portraits by degillett

Posted on December 22, 2008

OK all you painters out there who have struggled with mixing flesh tones correctly- here is the answer. The information on this palette has taken years to collect from a variety of sources, and I have finally found the time to pull it all together and make it available in a long lasting true colour format, thanks also to the hard work of Mark Lutz in reproducing it so accurately.
It has taken many morsels of information gleaned from many different sources, but this is what works for me when I want photographic accuracy of every tone and every colour.
You can get it from my website postage and GST included-what a bargain!

This is a great tool Deb, I hope you do well with this x

Thanks Anita- been distinctly underwhelmed by the response so far! Maybe people need to see it demonstrated to understand what a difference it makes. I have students who had sworn off oils and could only ever make mud, but now love this organised way of working and are getting lovely clean results. Need to make a demo video!!!

I dont use oils or at least I havent for many many years but I know how very very difficult it is to acheive skin tones, you can see from your work how vibrantly effective it is- Maybe a demo would create a stir (I think loads of peeps are gone for the hols too) xxxxx
