Bluewater Blackboys
This is a liitle piece of Australian bush at our property at Bluewater, North Queensland. It’s not PC to cal the grass trees “blackboys” anymore, but how could I avoid the lovely alliteration in calling it “Bluewater Blackboys” ? Bluewater xanthorroea just doesn’t cut it, really. It has a lot of textures in it – I used texture paste in an icing bag for the blackboys!

On the matter of being PC, I don’t think it should ever be wrong to call something by what it reminds a person of, in looks or temperament. I mean, they still call sweet william, sweet william, and that was in regards to William Wallace; but, most people think it’s just a name, now. It’s not insulting, is my point, it’s just reflective of persons and history.
This is a beautiful piece!

Exactly right Arletta! The intention behind the words is the important thing, surely? Thanks for having a look through my work!!
