Rainbow Turbulence

Deb Gillett

Rainbow Turbulence

This is a further interpretation of a previous painting- sometimes I love the theme so much I have to keep revisiting it to do it better. I love the way the rainbow bee- eater’s colours glow against the earthern backdrop- it tunnels deep in the ground to nest, and I love that contrast. Colour trails- that’s SO much better than calling them swoops. Thanks for sharing the words, Mare!

A wonderful interpretation of the speed at which the wings flap and the glorious colors that one glimpses as it moves about. Looks absolutely fantastic on the front page too – a worthy spot for it!

It’s actually pretty big- 1.5 metres by 1metre. The lesson It gave me was how putting in enough of those dirty ochres and earth colours makes the brights just glow! Thanks everybody for your inspriring comments!

    Hey,

I am looking for original and great birds and yours is one of them. I am looking for them because me and a friend have a group colours outside the lines and we have each month a new theme for illustrations. Just to look how someone else thinks or draws in this theme. This month the theme is birds and i love to have this birds in the group.
