This is a digital composition of two licensed photos that were originally taken in 1867 by Carl Moon. I first restored both images as they were grainy B&W photos with age spots on them. I removed the majority of the background on the Navajo Boy and layered a portion of it over the other reducing the opacity. After merging these layers, I added paint stroke texture, converted it to sepia tones and added some accents. I used four programs: MS PPT, Picasa, Corel and Photo Editor.
Lest we never forget from whence we came and at what cost. -Darlene Lankford Honeycutt
