Oil Rig
Yesterday, June 6th, the Kan Tan IV semi-submersible oil rig was towed into Geelong for repairs. I was poking around Portarlington looking for photos when I saw it in the distance moving up the channel. At the rate it was traveling I figured that I had time to pick up some lunch and head for Point Henry in Geelong for a really close view. By then it was late afternoon and some early sunset colours were appearing in the sky. I fully expected to see every Geelong-ite out there with cameras but there was no one that I knew. Anyway, a couple of shots of an unusual event in Corio Bay.

I’ll have to venture down and see it for myself Heather, it certainly was being towed in at a fair speed, well documented

Heather your wonderful photos certainly enhance the Kan Tan! It doesn’t look so great close-up from the port! Ken is currently working on it and I was trying to find your superb photographs to purchase please? Perhaps I haven’t looked for them carefully?
We met when I collected my husband from his last work stint in India. You returned from your photographic tour of India, so I gave you a lift home! Regards, Dianne :)
