I went down to Winkipop (near Bell’s Beach) yesterday because I heard about a whale sighting. No whales but massive surf.
Nikon D300 with 80 – 200mm lens with 1.7x extender.

Amazing! I would be scared to death to be out there. The waves are massive. You did an excellent job capturing this, Heather. Pefect timing to capture the surfer at the crest of the wave and all the spray as well as the swell. Certainly is a great example of showing scale.
