These are the REAL keys to Alkatraz done in this look and these colors to provoke the feeling of the place. Weather worn, run down and that nasty color greenish mint that was on the walls as well as the bars, with red rust accents. Dreadful place.
I got this image while on a tour with a group of friends. being the kind of person I am, I went away from the main group and ended up in this darker area. No one was a round and it was creepy! But it wasn’t as creepy as the guard! There he was standing in a drab brown uniform, spit polished black shoes and cap. I asked the thin bugged eyed guy if he was indeed the guard. With a nod of his head he confermed that he was. Then I asked if I could see the keys that opened these caged walls. Suprised he says “No one has ever asked that before!” then he showed them to me. He then unlocked the main bars we walked in and he locked us in! I have a fear of being locked in places so of course I get all panic stricken turning different shades of white. The guard laughs and unlocks the door. After that was the end of it , I asked if I could take a photograph of those big brass keys.He scratched his head and stated, “Well I’m not sapos ta do that but OK, BUT don’t tell anyone!”
I thanked him shot the shot and NEVER told a soul about it, to this day No One has ever seen those keys in my shots. This is about as close as it gets.
