Excellent lighting on the face Sara.

  • Sara Lamond replied

Thanks Andrew – lighting by mother nature – I just use what she gives me :)

I won’t give you photographic terminology as to why I like this image so much, rather I’ll give you personal opinion. The light on his face is sublime; the background colour works perfectly with the black and white theme of the central character. I like how there are aspects that stand out, his tie and suit and of face and his hat blends into the background…in the shadow. A superb pensive capture of Charlie Chaplin….

    Very cool pic.

Get the lights out again and make a “the Crow” now (not a demand of course – just the tones reminded me of Brandon Lee in the Crow)

Sara, I like it a lot, and I think I’d love it without colour. The grain suits it well and the “mother nature” lighting is perfect.

    Thanks guys

@Jason – I did try this without the background color – lacked some “pop” – so decided to leave “Charlie” b&w as he would have been in his movies, but keep the color in the background .

I’m always fascinated by street performers in general anyways because it is such a foreign concept to Canada … don’t really have those here. Buskers and street musicians a little but not these kinds of performers. I was in Madrid in August and saw one guy dressed as a tree and he was standing in a park … scared the crap out of me when he started moving but it was just the most elaborate costume.
