Ladybugs - an in depth study
In depth because there’s thousands of them here….
Shot at ISO 3200 – because there’s not much light when you crawl under a microwave station to get to the ladybug mosh pit.

OMG…where did they come from? Never seen so many.
Cool photo =D
Sara Lamond replied
There were thousands of them clustered around the base of a Telstra microwave station. Now you know why service is so crappy – clearly Optus is sending in covert crews to sabotage the signals.

Nice image Sara. New camera or old?
Sara Lamond replied
New camera – new lens. Although Brian took some with the 400d and the 100mm macro, and they’re great!

Oh wow, amazing These are Eastern lady bugs they bite and stink when you touch them. We never used to have them here in Canada but now we do they are killing off our much more pleasant lady bugs, dam things.
Sara Lamond replied
I’d have to disagree with you there Gail – I held handfuls of them, and they did nothing more objectionable than tickle me. Maybe the Aussie ones are friendlier. :)
Catherine Davis
Wow, a sea of them! No wonder they are having so much success taking over! Fantastic photo!
