i really like this!! great contrast.
Sara Lamond
Thanks – I love the feeling of this area – with the old buildings in the city. The red door by the way is real – it’s the only part of the photo that I didn’t desaturate to black and white.
Chris Clark
Well done Sara what a lovely image
Naomi Frost
Fabulous.
Sara Lamond
Thank you Chris and Naomi :) The area is rumored to be haunted by ghosts – looking at the print of this photo – BIG – it is dark and spooky… very ghostly indeed.

The door really pops. A very good use of selective colour Sara!
Sara Lamond
Thanks guys – I just love whoever painted that door red…
Carl Osbourn
brilliant shot – so well spotted and executed – loving your night photography but this is the best! :)
Steven Lippis
This is a little reminiscent of a shot I tried to get last time I was in Sydney. In the Rocks area, there was a restuarant with a little door on a staircase, with a light above it. I’d waited in the rain until it was dark, and in the end it just didn’t work.
Your photo does, and I’m usually not a fan of selective desaturation!
Sara Lamond
Thanks Carl and Steven!
Deborah Parkin

Very cool, I have a “red door” on my profile too but they are completely different looks. I love how the light shines on your red door. Great shadow effects too.

I really like this…. perfect selective coloring…. brings me right into teh photograph and gives me a sense of involvment…. almost like a still shot from a 60’s spy movie.
