Toward the end of the 1960’s, California had over 220 Drive-in theatres. Though most are long gone, there are still about 20 in operation throughout the state, this one in Oceanside closing in 1999. The neon sign is from another San Diego Drive-in, demolished in 1983, though the fabulous sign was saved and later reinstalled elsewhere in town.
