Ansel Adams once said “Simply look with perceptive eyes at the world about you, and trust to your own reactions and convictions. Ask yourself: ‘Does this subject move me to feel, think and dream? Can I visualize a print – my own personal statement of what I feel and want to convey – from the subject before me?’.” That’s exactly what I try to do… show you my perception of the world.

I was born in Ticonderoga, NY, living my first six impressionable years in Hague, NY where I learned to appreciate the beauty of the Adirondack mountains and Lake George.

I spent most of my life in Ogdensburg, NY on the St. Lawrence River, where I spent an immeasurable amount of time traveling nearly every road in St. Lawrence County, and exploring as much of the State Parks and State land in the area as I could. I became a vocal advocate for New York State Parks and of local tourism, often allowing websites and other agencies to use my photos for promotional purposes for both of these.

I am a self-taught photographer – I began by experimenting with a manual film SLR that I found at a garage sale.

In May 2005 I bought my first digital camera, a simple point and shoot. A year later I bought my first macro lenses, my perspective on photography, as a whole, changed drastically, and I outgrew the camera’s capabilities.

In November 2006 I participated in my first Community Art Exhibit and upgraded to a digital SLR, a Canon Rebel XT, and then a Rebel XTi a year later, trading in my amateur status when I sold my first photo in the fall of 2007.
