Rita Deegan has been an artist since childhood. After attending commercial art school, she worked as a Graphic Artist and Art Director for various advertising agencies in Houston, Miami and South Carolina. After 15 years in the advertising business she left to raise 2 children. During this time she freelanced and studied 4 years of art at Coastal Carolina University. For the last several years Rita has worked on commissioned art and murals for businesses and private clients. She works in several different mediums: acrylic, pastels, lino-cut prints, watercolor, oil, charcoal and 3-D paper cut. “I find it very exciting to experiment with different mediums and my current passion is working with pastels”. Some of her work is now on display at the Iron House Art Gallery in Garden City, S.C.
