a fine pair of bald eagles roosting in a dead tree that i shot at semiahmoo spit, washington, usa. they had been preening, cleaning out a bit of the winter undercoat in prep for summer i suspect, and you can see a couple small white spots of down on each if you view large, i think anyway. there’s also a down feather plastered on the end of the lower one’s beak by the rain. this is a bit grainy and dark in the body but i decided to post it anyway becuase the beaks and eyes are so nice. though many of them eat about as much carrion as vultures eagles just seem so much more noble somehow. my spirits always lift when i see them.
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is an everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will njot grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:28-31
this one is for all my friends and family who suffer with health issues, disabilities, and just plain getting older and creakier
