the joy in the little boss’s face says about everything that need be said about this one i think. i’d been teaching her to move calmly and quietly while trying for ‘wildlife’ pics, and just in life generally as i think its a good habit, and half her joy was getting so close to this beauty. this western swallowtail is right on the wall by the back door of the restuarant where i work in bellingham, wa, usa. they are much appreciated rare visitors in our city. the bosses considered this visit great good luck and have considered the appreciation of the photos of it to just be a continuation of that luck.
this one is dedicated to “the bosses” and all my other friends, on-line and off, who have become like family

it was so fun that day as we all would go back to check if it were still there whenever we had a spare minute. the little boss literally went for a peek, and would come back beaming, every 5 minutes for a couple hours!
